Bajaj Finance profit up 27%

NBFC Bajaj Finance on July 30 reported 27% rise in net profit at Rs 5,986 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 on steady growth in its loanbook.


The lender benefited from robust retail credit demand, after it implemented more stringent underwriting over the last year to improve asset quality. Assets under management (AUM) grew by 23% to Rs 4,00,389 crore as of June 30, 2026 from Rs 3,25,438 crore as of June 30, 2025.

Net interest income increased by 24% in Q1FY27 to Rs 11,495 crore from Rs 9,270 crore in Q1FY26. Net total income increased by 23% in Q1FY27 to Rs 13,929 crore from Rs 11,328 crore in Q1FY26.

On July 30, Bajaj Finance shares closed 0.3% higher at Rs 1,058 apiece.

"Q1FY27 includes a prudent management and macro-economic provisions of Rs 296 crore. Excluding this, loan losses and provisions was Rs 1,681 crore, a decline of 13% as against Q1FY26," said Bajaj Finance in a stock exchange filing.

Gross NPA and Net NPA as of June 30, 2026 stood at 1.2% and 0.49% respectively, as against 1.28% and 0.63% as of June 30, 2025. The company has provisioning coverage ratio of 60% on stage 3 assets.
