India’s foreign exchange reserves declined by $4.92 billion to $780.78 billion in the week ended September 11, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday.
Foreign currency assets (FCA), the largest component of the reserves, fell by $2.37 billion during the week to $645.8 billion.
FCA holdings were up $95.886 billion from the end of March and $63.692 billion from a year earlier.
Gold reserves, however, declined by $12.77 billion during the week to $111.22 billion.
The decline came a week after India’s foreign exchange reserves surged by $44.90 billion to a record $785.71 billion in the week ended September 4, according to RBI data released on Friday.
