TCS profit rises 4% to Rs 13,884 crore

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest IT services company, on Thursday reported a 4 percent sequential increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 13,884 crore for the second quarter of FY27, from Rs 13,349 crore in the preceding quarter. Excluding an exceptional loss related to a legal claim settlement in Q1, net profit rose marginally from Rs 13,849 crore. The latest profit exceeded the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of Rs 13,673 crore.

The company's consolidated revenue from operations rose 1.3 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 73,188 crore from Rs 72,275 crore, broadly in line with the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of Rs 73,225 crore. Revenue grew 11.2 percent year-on-year.

TCS reported an operating profit of Rs 17,553 crore, up 1.4 percent from Rs 17,317 crore in the preceding quarter. Its operating margin stood at 24 percent, broadly unchanged from the previous quarter, while the net profit margin stood at 19 percent.

TCS announced a dividend of Rs 12 per share, with October 14, 2026, fixed as the record date. The dividend will be paid on October 30, 2026.

AI revenue crosses $3 billion; deal wins at $9.6 billion.

TCS reported annualised AI revenue of $3.1 billion during the July-September quarter, crossing 10 percent of its overall revenue, as demand for AI-led transformation services continued to grow. The company's total contract value (TCV) stood at $9.6 billion during the quarter.

TCS Executive Director, President and Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian said AI momentum remained strong, with annualised revenue exceeding $3 billion.

She said demand for AI-native solutions, AI-led transformation of enterprise systems and autonomous global business services continued to accelerate, while cybersecurity remained a key priority for clients.

TCS CEO and Managing Director K Krithivasan said the company witnessed broad-based growth across international markets and most industry segments. "We are pleased with the broad-based growth in all our international markets and most industry segments," Krithivasan said.

He highlighted the company's strategic partnerships with Porsche and Best Buy, describing them as a new category of transformation partnerships aimed at scaling AI.
