Trent Q1 net profit rises 26% to Rs 532 cr

Trent Ltd, which operates Zudio and Westside, on August 6 reported 26% increase in net profit at Rs 532 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Expansion of its Westside and Zudio brands beyond metropolitan cities helped Trent outweigh pressure from rising raw material costs.

The firm reported net profit of Rs 423 crore in the year-ago period.

The firm's revenue from operations rose 18.5% to Rs 5,666 crore in Q1FY27 as against Rs 4,781 crore in Q1FY26.  Trent's April-June operating EBITDA was at 8.47 billion, up 36% on-year and operating EBIT was at Rs 732 crore, up 33% on-year.

In Q1FY27, it opened one Westside and 22 Zudio stores (including 1 store in the UAE) and consolidated 3 Zudio stores while expanding its presence to nine new cities. As of June 30, the retailer's store portfolio included 301 Westside, 982 Zudio (including seven stores in the UAE), and 29 stores across other lifestyle concepts.

"We now operate a significant portfolio of over 1300 "large-box" fashion stores, with presence across 330 cities (including 3 in the UAE)," the company stated.

Like-for-like growth for the fashion portfolio in the June quarter was in the low single digits. Meanwhile, emerging categories, including beauty and personal care, innerwear and footwear

contributed over 21 percent of its revenues. Westside online, together with its proposition on the Tata Neu platform continues to witness traction and grow profitably.

In Q1FY27, online revenues contributed to over 6 percent of Westside revenue, the company stated.

Trent's April-Jun food, grocery revenue rose to Rs 885 crore from Rs 814 crore a year ago. With the addition of five new stores during the quarter, the Star portfolio's overall store count reached 86 across 12 cities.
