Wipro Ltd on Thursday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 3,352 crore for the April-June quarter, up 0.6 percent from Rs 3,330 crore a year earlier. Profit came in below consensus estimates of Rs 3,442, according to Reuters-LSEG data.
Consolidated revenue rose 10.6 percent year-on-year to Rs 24,479 crore, but came in below analysts' average estimate of Rs 24,776 crore, according to Reuters-LSEG data. The company's board also declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share.
The IT services company's gross revenue increased 1 percent sequentially, while IT services revenue stood at $2.61 billion, down 1.4 percent quarter-on-quarter but up 1 percent year-on-year. In constant currency terms, Wipro's IT services revenue declined 1.2 percent sequentially and increased 0.9 percent from a year ago.
Total bookings for the quarter stood at $3.37 billion, down 2.4 percent sequentially in constant currency, while large deal bookings rose 12.9 percent quarter-on-quarter to $1.63 billion. IT services operating margin came in at 16 percent, down 130 basis points sequentially and 120 basis points year-on-year. Operating cash flow was Rs 3,288 crore, equivalent to 98 percent of net income, while voluntary attrition stood at 13.9 percent on a trailing 12-month basis.
For the July-September quarter, Wipro guided for IT services revenue in the range of $2.57 billion-$2.63 billion, implying sequential constant currency growth of between a decline of 1.5 percent and growth of 0.5 percent.
