U.S. stock futures edged higher Wednesday, as investors awaited a flood of major corporate earnings as well as the latest Federal Reserve interest rate decision.

At 06:00 ET (10:00 GMT), Dow Jones Futures traded 35 points, or 0.1%, higher, S&P 500 Futures inched 10 points, or 0.2%, higher and Nasdaq 100 Futures gained 50 points, or 0.2%.

The main averages slipped on Tuesday, with the benchmark S&P 500 and tech-heavy NASDAQ Composite backing away from recent record highs.
